I’m a nutritionist and former elementary school teacher who joined my family business (started by my Dad over 30 years ago), where I now work alongside my brother. I’ve always had a serious fashion bug, and I’ve finally decided to put it to good use!

Coastal Thread was born from my belief that what you wear should make you feel just as good as what you eat - confident, comfortable, and happy in your own skin.

For over 20 years, my husband and I have travelled back and forth to Maui three to four times a year, often staying for up to a month at a time. Those trips became so much more than vacations - we built deep friendships there that now feel like family. I fell in love with Maui’s effortless coastal style: breezy, versatile pieces that moved beautifully from beach walks and yoga to dinners and everyday adventures. Yet when I returned home to Vancouver Island, I always struggled to find clothing that captured that same relaxed, confident feeling while suiting our cooler coastal climate and everyday life.

Coastal Thread is an homage to my life spent between two islands - Maui and Vancouver Island, and all the stars in between.

Today, Coastal Thread is known for Italian linen, premium organic cotton, and timeless coastal-inspired clothing designed to be worn season after season. Every collection is inspired by the laid-back ease of Maui and the rugged beauty of Vancouver Island. Clothing that moves effortlessly with you from day to night: school runs, work, lunch with friends, beach walks, or a night out. Think laid-back but stylish, the kind of pieces you can throw on with trainers or dress up with heels.

I’m committed to keeping things small and thoughtful. I order in limited batches to avoid waste, work only with manufacturers who share my values, and am proud to say nothing unsold will ever go to landfill.

Coastal Thread was founded in Victoria, British Columbia, on Canada's beautiful West Coast, where I continue to run the business while serving customers across Canada and beyond. I live with my husband and our fluffy Pomeranian, Kumu, who happily supervises packaging most days. When I’m not working with my family business, seeing nutrition clients, or photographing new arrivals, you’ll usually find me hunting for the perfect oversized blazer or planning the next collection.
